2 inch Sublimated polyester webbing is made using non-dyed, plain, polyester webbing that is then run through the sublimation printing process. Sublimation printing is the process of transferring printed artwork to webbing using heat and pressure. Sublimation can produce incredible colors, definition and unlimited design options.

VARIATIONS: The variation options of 2 inch sublimated polyester are in the weave or texture of the webbing. Two webbing weave types commonly offered: flat and tie-down. Flat weave provides a nice print and has many strength options. Flat weave can be used for many different strap application. Tie-Down weave has a lot more texture and is best for custom solid colors or simple prints. Tie-down weave is typically used for industrial and commercial applications.
PURPOSES: 2 Inch Sublimated webbing can be used for mostly all the same applications as dyed polyester webbing.
LIMITATIONS: There are a few limitations to sublimated polyester webbing: continuous lengths, increased stretch, maximum webbing thickness and production minimums.
During the process of sublimating webbing, the heat and pressure that is applied, causes the webbing to contract slightly (we call it shrinkage). This shrinkage limits the continuous lengths that are capable of being produced.
Sublimated polyester webbing has a higher stretch factor than dyed polyester webbing by 5% on average. This stretch is still lower than nylon and polypro.
There are limitations on how thick the webbing can be to properly sublimate. The thicker the webbing, the more difficult to get full color coverage on the edges while achieving good color depth on the flat surfaces.
Minimum order lengths vary from job to job, but 100 feet of webbing produced is common.
PRODUCTION: Production of sublimated polyester webbing is a complicated process. It includes art preparation, color matching, printing and finally the sublimation process. These steps do take some time. It is best to check with the production department prior to placing an order. Depending on the job and current workload, lead times can be quite a bit longer than the standard printing processes.
There is also a minimum production quantity. As each job is unique, the minimum order size can vary. Please check with customer service for minimums.
WARNINGS: Never exceed the working load limit of a webbing. Always be aware of the environment the webbing will be used in. Melting point, elongation, UV resistance, moisture resistance and chemical resistance can all be factors when selecting the proper webbing
