• BREAKING STRENGTH: The minimum strength a hardware component or tie-down assembly can withstand before failure. Assemblies are tested in a straight tensile pull to failure. All assemblies are only as strong as the weakest component.

  • WORKING LOAD LIMIT: The maximum load weight that a hardware component or tie-down assembly is rated for without fear of breaking. Tie-down manufacturers calculate Working Load Limit as (1/3 x Break Strength). The weight of the load should never exceed the working load limit of the tie-down.
